BETON-PRIM BAUTEC

   PRODUCT DATA SHEET BAUTEC BETON-PRIM

BONDING AGENT BEFORE APPLICATION OF PLASTER

Product description

Beton-Prim is a ready-mixed mechanical key for gypsum plasters on a synthetic resin emulsion basis filled with silica sand, which is pigmented pink and alkaline resistant.

Field of use

BAUTEC BETON-PRIM is a ready-to-use, solvent-free adhesive primer for smooth or hardly porous substrates, for interior use. BETON-PRIM allows to achieve an adhesive bridge between such substrates and certain cement- or plaster-based products with a relatively low bond. BETON-PRIM also allows to regulate the porosity of heterogeneous substrates (presence of several materials of different nature).

Storage

It can be stored for at least 12 months in the original unopened container in a cool and frost-free (+5 °C to +25 °C) environment. Close opened buckets airtight. Do not expose to direct sunlight or heat.

Quality

The product is subject to initial type testing and continuous factory production control.

Properties and added value

■ For interior use (particularly on concrete)

■ Ready-to-use

■ Provides bonding substrates

■ Particularly low-emission

■ For application by hand or machine

■ Pigmented pink

Field of application

For application in interiors on:

In-place concrete and prefabricated concrete units

Solid concrete slabs made from building components (filigree ceilings)

EPS and XPS insulation materials

Other dense, non-suction substrates as a bonding agent acc. to
DIN 18550

Before the application of:

Gypsum plasters and gypsum-based plasters

Hand applied plasters

Adhesive compound for dry lining

Suitable thin plasters

Application

Substrate and pretreatment

The substrate must be stable, dry, firm and sufficiently dimensionally stable. Furthermore, the substrate must be free of dust, free of debris, oil, grease, formwork release agents, concrete curing agents, sinter layers, impurities and unfavourable efflorescences and compliant with the requirements for evenness of surfaces of construction components acc. to DIN 18202

Preparation

Protect easily-soiled building components, particularly glass surfaces, wood, metal, natural stone and floor covering.
Observe the Code of Practice “Abklebe- und Abdeckarbeiten für Maler- und Stuckateurarbeiten - Masking and covering for painting and stucco work

Product application

Stir the contents of the bucket thoroughly before application. Beton-Prim is ready-mixed and is applied undiluted and evenly to the full surface using a short pile lambskin roller.

Clean tools directly after use with water. Remove contaminations of Beton-Prim (splashes or similar) on the contaminated surfaces preferably when fresh using water. Dried material can be removed after softening with warm water using a damp wiping cloth or similar.

Application temperature / climate

The material, substrate and air temperatures during application and until the bonding primer is fully dry should not fall below +5 °C.

Drying

Wait with subsequent work until Beton-Prim is no longer adhesive and has fully dried (min. 12 hours at +20 °C and 65 % relative humidity). Correspondingly longer drying times result from cool and damp site conditions.

Good ventilation reduces the drying times. The time after drying of Beton-Prim and commencement of the subsequent work should be kept as short as possible to avoid dust depositing on the surfaces.

 PACKAGING

Bucket 20 kg & 5 kg

Notes

Do not mix Beton-Prim with other materials to avoid changes to its properties.

The maximum permissible residual moisture with normal- weight concrete is 3 % by weight.
